HOW IT WORKS:

  1. How do I contact i-HOOT Customer Service?
    The Customer Service telephone number is 1-888-375-5183 and the email address is support@i-HOOT.com. You can also select Customer Support on My Account in i-HOOT.
  2. Do I have to change my iPhone® mobile number?
    No. You keep your existing mobile phone number. i-HOOT works in conjunction with your iPhone calling plan. You use your i-HOOT application when you want to make low-cost, international calls.
  3. How easy is it to install i-HOOT on my iPhone®?
    Extremely easy! Just go to the Apple Application Store or the iTunes store and search for i-HOOT. Download the app to your iPhone and follow the simple, on screen instructions to set up your account. Your first calls are free -- once your balance reaches $0.00 you will need to recharge your account.
  4. How do I upgrade my iPhone® to the latest version of i-HOOT?
    To upgrade to the latest version of i-HOOT:
    1. On your device, click the App Store icon located on your screen
    2. Click the Updates icon located in the bottom navigation bar
    3. Find and select the update labeled i-HOOT
    4. Click the Free button -- this button will then change to say Install
    5. Click Install
    6. NOTE: You may be prompted to enter your iTunes password
  5. How do I know I am making an i-HOOT call?
    You have to be in the i-HOOT application to make a call so you would have to launch the app. The Dial Pad will have an i-HOOT logo so you know you are dialing from the i-HOOT application.
  6. How do I recharge my i-HOOT account?
    1. Web Recharge
      You will need to set up your account information before you can recharge. Click on My Account in your i-HOOT application on your iPhone and update the fields to add your information, including your credit card information. Once you create your account, you may recharge your i-HOOT account.
    2. iPhone® Recharge
        You can recharge your i-HOOT account from your iPhone by clicking Recharge on the Dial Pad, or by clicking Recharge on the My Account page. You will be prompted to enter the amount you want added to your account. Enter the dollar value amount and submit. The amount will be added to your account balance. You will be sent an email confirmation to the email address on file.
  7. I've forgotten my password, what should I do?
    You can reset your password by going to www.i-HOOT.com and selecting My Account. Click on Forgot your password? and follow the instructions. You can also select Forgot your password? on the Log In page in the i-HOOT application.
  8. What is an Access Code used for and why do I need one?
    The Access Code is a six (6) digit numeric code that you will need in order to confirm you are the owner of the i-HOOT account.
  9. Are i-HOOT deposits/recharges subject to taxes?
    Yes. All local, state and federal taxes apply to the service.
  10. Why can't I see my i-HOOT balance displayed on my i-HOOT Dial Pad?
    If you can't see your balance, you may not have a successful data connection on your iPhone. Once your iPhone reconnects to the internet, your balance will update on your screen.
  11. Why has my balance not changed after I made a call on my iPhone®?
    If your balance doesn't change after you make a call on your iPhone, you may not have a successful data connection on your iPhone. Once your iPhone reconnects to the internet, your balance will update on your screen.
  12. How do I re-install i-HOOT on my device if I encounter an error?
    In order to re-install the i-HOOT application you must first delete the previous version from your handset, and then install the newer version, as described below.
    1. To Delete the i-HOOT application from your iPhone or iPod Touch:
      1. Hold down the i-HOOT icon -- the apps will start to shake
      2. Press the "X" in the upper left-hand corner of the application
      3. Select Delete
    2. To Re-install the i-HOOT Application on your iPhone or iPod Touch:
      1. Go to the iPhone app store and search for i-HOOT. Click the Free Download button.
      2. Follow the onscreen instructions for installing the application.
  13. How do I make a call using my i-HOOT account?
    To make a Domestic, Canadian or Caribbean call, select Dial Pad on the menu at the bottom of the i-HOOT application. Dial 1 + area code + telephone number and press the green Call button.
    To make an international call, select Dial Pad on the menu at the bottom of the i-HOOT application. Dial 011 + country code + city code + telephone number and press the green Call button.
  14. How do I find my available account balance?
    Your account balance is always displayed on the Dial Pad or in My Account.
  15. Why do I receive a message that I am not able to make a call because my phone number is not recognized?
    You will receive this message if you have insufficient funds in your account, you are blocking your Caller ID, or your iPhone number was not set up in our switch.
    To confirm your account balance, check your available balance and Refresh your account to add funds from the Dial Pad.
    If your Caller ID is blocked, it can be changed by going to your iPhone settings. Select Settings > Phone > Show My Caller ID. Make sure the setting is On.
    You can check to see if your iPhone number was set up by going to My Account and select Account Info. Verify the correct number is assigned to your account. If not, contact Customer Support at 1-888-375-5183.
